I've loved cars ever since I was a little boy. You would often find me driving my toy Ford truck in our family's backyard. It is one of those interests for some reason I never outgrew. To this day, I still think back upon those days and their influence on me now. I am not sure what I want to do, but I know I want it to have something to do with mechanics. I love working with my hands, and I want nothing more than to pursue that love. There is an underlying satisfaction from building or repairing something. You look back at your work and see the results of your time and effort. It gives me the feeling that I created something.

I love the feeling of being able to fix or create something. I acknowledge that I may not be an expert, but that does not stop me from starting different do-it-yourself projects. There are so many resources available that allow people to fix and create stuff themselves. It is one of those interests that develops more as you see the results of your work. I enjoy staring back at something that was broken and being able to restore it.
Fixing things is like solving a puzzle, and with each car comes something new to solve. It is enjoyable diagnosing and figuring out what is wrong with something. I find it pleasant solving problems; it gives me a sense of accomplishment. There are so many resources available to people fixing and doing stuff yourself has never been easier. There are so many things that people can fix on their own, but no one wants to give it a try. I find that if people learn to do stuff for themselves, it can help them learn and grow.
There is something about working with your hands that school can't provide you. You combine knowledge and experience into an application. One problem that a lot of people have with the school is that a lot of stuff that you learn doesn't apply to the majority of people's lives. That is one thing that I like about mechanics and fixing things. Everyone has stuff that breaks, most people have cars, and the material that you learn from the field will always have an application which is something that cannot be said about everything you learn.
It is crucial to be knowledgeable about your vehicle. No one wants the best for your car other than yourself. It is essential to understand how something that you use everyday works. Doing stuff yourself and gathering information from different sources from an owner's manual to Youtube videos to service manuals allows you to understand better your vehicle and how to maintain it properly. People can do stuff themselves, but you will find that some people are scared. They think they aren't "car people," well you are driving the thing every day, so you might as well understand and learn about it. It is okay to learn, try, and fail, but if you feel you aren't adequately equipped to do something, don't risk it.
I want to pursue the solving of different puzzles in the future. Cars are one of my passions now, and I want to turn that into future career possibilities. There are so many aspects that go into vehicles from their engineering, software, repairs, etc. I am not sure which side of the spectrum I enjoy more, but I know I want to be somewhere within that spectrum.
I understand that you have a passion for fixing cars, but how could this profession of yours translate to the future. The main cars that need to be worked on right now are the typical average cars. However, in the future, there are going to be cars that are more electric and autonomic, and they will not need a mechanic to fix their car. My point is that soon there will be less need for car mechanics than there is right now.
